Jumbo Group donates AED1 million to 1 Billion Meals initiative

DUBAI, 8th April, 2022 (WAM) -- Jumbo Group, UAE's leading retailer for latest technology products, has donated AED1 million to support the 1 Billion Meals initiative, the region's largest campaign for providing food supplies to the underprivileged in 50 nations around the world.

Jumbo Group is one of several UAE companies that are making a significant financial contribution to 1 Billion Meals initiative, which is helping to alleviate the hunger experienced people worldwide every day, especially vulnerable groups such as children, refugees, displaced persons and those affected by disasters and crises.

The 1 Billion Meals initiative supports the disadvantaged by providing them with food supplies during the holy month of Ramadan. The initiative contributes to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals for 2030, which includes eradicating world hunger.

Vidya M. Chhabria, Chairperson of Jumbo Group, said, 'We are delighted to support the 1 Billion Meals campaign with a donation of AED1 million. Our relationship with the UAE and its people was established over 45 years ago and we are proud to be able to contribute to such an important initiative, which will provide urgent food aid to millions of people around the world. Ramadan is a time for self-reflection and charity and as a company Jumbo Group is in full support of the efforts made by the government here to help those in need.'
