Nishan Vodafone Ramadan tournament attracts huge turnout

Nishan Vodafone Ramadan Tournament continued yesterday under the patronage of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) President H E Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani at the Lusail Shooting Range. The event, which began on April 3 will run until April 19.

Abdulaziz Mohamed Al Tamimi, the tournament Director and Assistant Secretary General of the Qatar Shooting & Archery Association, said shotgun, rifle, pistol and archery events are seeing a big turnout from men, women and children.“Our shooting range, restaurants and Cafes remain open for all age groups to enjoy their amazing time in this Ramadan Heritage Gathering” added Al Tamimi.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Salman Al Thani, Head of the technical committee, lauded the big turnout from participants, whose number exceed 300 in the amateur event (18 years and above) and the professional event. 

“There is a special office that is collecting the results of the competitors and the official competitions, which will get underway on the 10th of Ramadan” added Sheikh Mohamed.

The tournament aims to discover the most talented athletes and develop their skills so that they can represent the country in the future.
