France urges to investigate assassinations in Mali with Kremlin-supported Wagner group
(MENAFN) France called for a search for news of mass assassinations in central Mali supposedly done by the Malian military and Russian Wagner Group armed force.
Elements of the Malian mercenaries and Russian armed force supposedly triggered the killing of hundreds of citizens in the village of Moura, according to a Foreign Ministry declaration.
Mali's army on April 1 stated it had assassinated 203 soldiers in a large-scale air and land operation on March 23-31 in Moura, which announced was a “stronghold of terrorists for several years.”
Other than the French declaration, the Malian troops official declaration did not mention the involvement of the Wagner Group in the operation, conducted 400 kilometers (250 miles) northeast of the capital, Bamako.
