Kharkiv mayor: Russian invaders destroyed 15% of residential houses


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Russian troops have destroyed 15% of residential houses in the city of Kharkiv.

The relevant statement was made by Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov during a telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Over the past 35 days, a total of 1,531 objects have been destroyed in the city of Kharkiv, including 1,292 residential houses. The Russian army destroyed 76 secondary schools, 54 nursery schools, 16 hospitals. A total of 239 administrative buildings are lying in ruins,” Terekhov told.

Kharkiv has been under continuous daily shelling since the Russian invasion started. About one-third of local residents left the city.

A reminder that, on February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin initiated a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, starting a war. Russian troops are shelling and destroying the key infrastructure facilities, launching missile and air strikes on Ukrainian cities and villages, killing civilians.
