Bangladesh ambassador praises ties with Jordan

AMMAN — The Embassy of Bangladesh in Jordan on Saturday held a reception commemorating Bangladesh's national day, which was attended by a number of officials, diplomats and journalists.

During the celebration, Ambassador of Bangladesh Nahida Subhan praised the distinguished bilateral relations with Jordan and the development they are witnessing in various fields.

She highlighted the“mutual keenness” to develop ties and build on previous achievements, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. 

Labour Minister Nayef Steitieh highlighted the 'historical relations' between the countries, stressing that they have been based on respect and trust that has been built over the past decades and bolstered by His Majesty King Abdullah and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

He added that Jordan is looking forward to increasing trade exchange with Bangladesh and enhancing joint cooperation through signing additional memoranda of understanding between the countries.

He stressed the importance of the role of Bangladesh's workforce not only in increasing Jordan's exports, but also in transferring knowledge and expertise to Jordanian workers. 

He reaffirmed Jordan's respect for all rights of workers within the Kingdom's borders.
