Jordan - Crown Prince attends opening of National Youth Dialogue Conference

AMMAN — HRH crown prince Hussein on Sunday attended the opening of the first National Youth Dialogue Conference, organised by the Senate's Youth Dialogue Initiative Committee.
The conference, held at the Dead Sea, aims to address key issues concerning young people and to open new dialogue channels between the youth, the government and the private sector in order overcome challenges faced by youth in various fields, according to a Royal Court statement.
Discussions covered a number of topics related to youth empowerment, including bolstering their role and capitalising on their abilities, as well as stepping up their participation and engagement in all aspects of political life.
Senate President Faisal Fayez said the conference aims to put forward a comprehensive action plan to empower young Jordanians.
For her part, the chair of the Senate's Youth Dialogue Initiative Committee, Senator Rabiha Dabbas, said the committee was formed in line with public outreach efforts to emphasise young people's role in the nation's progress.
Speaking on behalf of the young participants, lawyer Ruba Al Zyoud stressed the need to establish new platforms to invest in youth by providing them with opportunities, skills and knowledge.
House Speaker Abdul Karim Dughmi and Youth Minister Mohammad Salameh Al Nabulsi attended the conference's opening ceremony.
