KABUL (Pajhwok): Kept in detention for 24 hours, three employees of a private TV channel, including its news director, have been released.
TOLOnews confirmed the authorities freed on Friday evening the trio, including presenter Bahram Aman and two others.
Khpalwak Sapai, director of TOLOnews, and Nafi Khaleeq, legal manager of Moby Group, had been detained along with Aman.
The arrests came after the channel reported an order banning the airing of foreign drama serials. The order was issued by the Ministry of Vice and Virtue.
The channel added Sapai and Khaleeq were released after being interrogated on Thursday evening. Aman was freed a day later.
“After almost 24 hours, I have been released from prison. I will always be the voice of the people,” Aman wrote on his Facebook account.
