Dubai – Gulfood 2022 ended this Thursday (17), in Dubai, after bringing a new breath of life to the food sector. The show had five days of an intense flow of visitors. Brazil had over 120 companies at the show, with participations organized by institutions such as the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA), and the Brazilian Beef Exporters Association (ABIEC).

Mansour: One of the best editions

“It was one of the best editions of Gulfood I participated. Indeed, the Brazilian presence was outstanding, between spaces organized by Apex-Brasil, ABPA, ABIEC, ABCC, and individual companies. This year's show will certainly surpass the business of the last five years,” said the secretary-general of the ABCC, Tamer Mansour, to ANBA.

The executive also highlighted the participation of Brazilian companies developing products with greater industrialization.“I am very pleased by the presence of the many companies with value-added products, especially in supermarket shelves and the coffee sector,” Mansour pointed out. Fostering value-added trade is part of the ABCC's strategy.

In addition to the brands, Brazil was also represented at Gulfood by business missions parallel to the show and Brazilian business people who came to the United Arab Emirates to visit the event.“In our booth, I saw the satisfaction of the business people and deals being closed,” said Mansour. Eight companies exhibited at booths organized by the ABCC.

The secretary-general of the ABCC believes through Gulfood, Brazilian entrepreneurs could reach several international markets.“The show was very reassuring for a new era of trade between Brazil and the Arab world, and it goes far beyond the UAE because the event is global and had visitors from the Gulf, North Africa, and Asia. It was a positive balance and an immense pleasure for the ABCC to participate and bring companies with the aim of succeeding in this new phase after the pandemic,” he concluded.
