São Paulo – The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) is working for strengthening relations with Kuwait. For this purpose, ABCC secretary-general Tamer Mansour and regional advisor for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, Iraq and Yemen Shaheen Ali Shaheen are on a mission to the country this week.
Mansour and Shaheen met with Mohamed Youssef Yaqoub, assistant director of KDIPA
One of the meetings were held with Rabah Abdel Rahman Al Rabah, director-general of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (pictured above).“We discussed making a common agenda for 2022. We started by inviting them to the Economic Forum Brazil & Arab Countries and holding a business mission to Kuwait in the second half of the year,” Mansour said. The ABCC will hold in July, when it turns 70, a special edition of the Economic Forum Brazil & Arab Countries.
The executives also met with ambassador Sami Al Hamad, director of the Americas of Kuwait's Ministry of Foreign Relations
This is the first visit of ABCC executives to Kuwait since the pandemic broke out. On the occasion, other topics discussed included how Brazil can cooperate with Kuwait's food security , as well as how to boost investments in both countries. The executives of the Brazilian institution also discussed cultural activities with Kuwait's Council for Culture, Arts and Letters.
The mission also included a meeting with Bader Al Darwish and Mohammad bin Redha
The ABCC's secretary-general and advisor also met with Bader Al Darwish, deputy secretary-general of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, as well as Mohammad bin Redha, Cultural International Relations director. Topics discussed included activities between Kuwait and the ABCC's cultural branch, the Arab House.“We discussed how to hold joint and virtual activities within the Arab House. And extended an invitation in person for them to join the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Chamber next July,” Mansour finished.
Mansour and Shaheen also met with Mohamed Youssef Mulla Yaqoub, assistant director of Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA).“We talked about the importance of boosting investment relations between both countries and what are the opportunities in Kuwait and Brazil,” Mansour said. The executives also met with ambassador Sami Al Hamad, director of the Americas of Kuwait's Ministry of Foreign Relations.
