Doha: General Directorate of Traffic will soon organise an online auction for 50 special numbers.
The General Directorate said on its Twitter account that the auction will start from February 2,2022, Wednesday, at 8am and will end on February 5, Saturday, at 10pm.
The auction of 50 special numbers will be conducted through Metrash2. Among the fancy numbers in the auctions are 444440, 522222, 505050, and 700006.
As per the rules, the Department clarified that the security deposit is QR5000, and the person who wins the auction (the bidder with the highest amount) must contact the General Directorate of Traffic within maximum of 4 working days from the auction end date to pay the bid price for the number plate.
If the bidder withdraws from payment, the security deposit will be forfeited, the Department added.
Giving more details the General Directorate noted that“If a bidder wins more than one special number, none of them will be granted to him until he pays all the amounts for the special numbers he won.”
For the payment it said that“Payment can be made by cheque issued in the name of the special numbers or by credit card.”
