China reveals new scheme to expand transportation net


(MENAFN) China has revealed an outlining scheme for main points for transportation net improvement in the 14th Five-Year Plan time frame (2021-2025).

High-speed railways are going to expand to an overall size of 50,000 kilometers in 2025, increasing from 38,000 kilometers from two years ago, and 250-km ones are predicted to include 95 percent of metropolises with inhabitants more than 500,000, according to the document published by the State Council.

The nation is going to have 165,000 kilometers of railways in 2025, increasing from 146,000 kilometers five years ago; over 270 civil airports, up from 241; 10,000 kilometers of subway lines in metropolises, jumping from 6,600 kilometers; 190,000 kilometers of expressways, soaring from 161,000 kilometers; as well as 18,500 kilometers of high-level inland waterways, surging from 16,100 kilometers.
