Iranian president expects visit to Russia to be turning point in relations between two countries

The visit to Russia will mark a turning point in political, economic and trade relations between Iran and Russia, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi told reporters in Tehran before his visit to Russia, Trend reports citing IRNA.

The president noted that Iran and Russia have common interests in the region, which will prevent unilateralism in the region.

Raisi also said that Iran and Russia have an effective opportunity to improve the situation in the region.

“Within the visit to Russia, talks will be conducted on bilateral relations, including, political, economic, energy and trade,' he said.

Reportedly, on January 19, 2022, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi paid a visit to Russia at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. A delegation of Iranian ministers is accompanying the Iranian president during the visit.

Within the visit, discussions will be conducted on the development of relations between the two countries in many areas, including Iran's nuclear program, economy, and energy.

Also, the two countries are expected to sign a 20-year cooperation document on a roadmap for relations.
