Ukraine - Ukroboronprom boosts production by 24% in 2021 - CEO


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukroboronprom's enterprises increased the production of weapons, military equipment and other products in 2021 by 24% compared to 2020, according to Yuriy Husyev, CEO of Ukroboronprom.

He said this in his blog for Ukrinform.

According to Husyev, 'the company's enterprises increased production last year by UAH 7.6 billion compared with 2020. What we produced the most (including modernization, repairs and services provided) was aircraft and equipment.'

'The production of high-precision weapons and ammunition has also increased, from UAH 6.4 billion in 2020 to UAH 8.6 billion in 2021. This is UAH 2.2 billion or 34% more than in the previous year,' Husyev said.

In addition, the production of naval equipment grew by 19% in 2021, to UAH 4.6 billion, from UAH 3.9 billion in 2020.

'The increase in manufactured products and services provided is also observed at radar, radio communications and special instrument making enterprises – an increase of 7% compared to 2020: UAH 2.8 billion against UAH 2.6 billion,' Husyev added.

The production of armored vehicles last year remained at the level of 2020 - UAH 5.7 billion.

Other areas of production, including civilian products, account for more than UAH 1.5 billion.

In total, the defense company's enterprises manufactured, modernized, restored and repaired more than 3,300 pieces of weapons and military hardware last year.

'In 2021, as part of the implementation of state target programs, the company's enterprises received UAH 705 million for the development of their production facilities, including for the purchase of new equipment,' Husyev said.
