Jordan - Gov't approves implementation of remaining parts of desert road

Amman, Dec. 19 (Petra) -- The Cabinet on Sunday approved procedures to complete the implementation of the remaining parts of the desert road.
To this end, the cabinet approved the disbursement of JD10 million from allocations for emergency expenditure set forth in the general budget law for the 2021 fiscal year.
Also, in the cabinet session, chaired by Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh, via teleconference, The Council of Ministers approved the recommendations of the settlement and conciliation committee related to settling pending cases between 37 companies and taxpayers and the Income and Sales Tax Department, in accordance with the provisions of the Income Tax Law and the General Sales Tax Law.
The government also approved recommendations of the Committee to consider outstanding claims between taxpayers and/or violators, and the Jordan Customs Department (JCD), to settle 15 cases of taxpayers and violators, provided that they commit to paying the full remaining amounts due with any fees, taxes or expenses within two months from the date of this decision.
