Swedish ambassador praises Qatar's role in Afghan development

Sweden's ambassador to Qatar Anders Bengtcen has praised the efforts made by Qatar on the Afghan situation, and its humanitarian endeavours, including the evacuation of many Swedish citizens and residents. In a statement to the Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of the Qatar National Day, the ambassador said that Qatar has shouldered an important diplomatic role in Afghanistan and in the evacuations from Afghanistan, including the evacuation of many Swedish citizens and residents.
Bengtcen added that Sweden greatly appreciates the co-operation with and assistance from Qatar in this context.

The ambassador also praised Qatar's labour reforms, its success in controlling the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, as well as the launch of its impressive vaccination programme, which was quickly implemented.
Bengtcen congratulated Qatar on the occasion of the National Day, praising the country's achievements at the local and international levels in 2021.
