Predictions for inflation in euro area to stay weak


(MENAFN) According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) statement on Monday, inflation in the euro area is predicted to stay weak in spite of the latest price rises.

The global financial institution declared in an announcement that policy management remains important in the economic rebound stage after the coronavirus pandemic.

The statement mentioned, "fiscal, monetary and financial sector polices have worked well together to dampen the effect of the [coronavirus] pandemic on the real economy."

And it also added, "fiscal policy should remain supportive but become increasingly targeted as the recovery continues.”

The IMF stated that the fiscal framework have to be changed to make it more effective at stopping debt distress while permitting sufficient room for macroeconomic stabilization.
