AMMAN — Minister of Culture Haifaa Najjar on Tuesday met with Korean Ambassador to Jordan Lee Jae-wan over advancing cultural cooperation between the countries.

Najjar expressed the ministry's keenness on boosting Jordanian-Korean cultural ties through updating the joint cultural cooperation agreement, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The Korean envoy emphasised that his country will continue to support Jordan in its journey and endeavours to bring about regional peace and prosperity.

Next year will mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the countries, the envoy said, expressing hope of bolstering cooperation and partnership in the next years.

In 1977, Jordan signed the first cultural cooperation agreement with Korea in Seoul, and in 2018, an exchange programme in education, higher education, culture, antiquities, media and sport fields was signed.
