(MENAFN- Bangladesh Monitor) Dhaka: High Commission of Sri Lanka and Sea Peal Beach Resort and Spa, in partnership with NOVOAIR, hosted a Sri Lankan Food Festival from November 23 to November 27.
The food festival took place at Kasbah Restaurant, Sea Pearl Beach Resort and Spa. The hotel's world-famous Sri Lankan Chef, Milroy Nanayakkara and his team showcased the event.
Sri Lankan cuisine is one of the most diverse cuisines in terms of flavours. Sri Lankan food culture is rich, exuberating a combination of different curry concoctions, seafood and a variety of tasty dishes made with the best spices. The flavourful array of dishes offered a magnificent tropical experience taking you on a trip to the sunny beaches and blue waters of Sri Lanka.
The five-day festival was inaugurated in the presence of Chandrasena Munasinghe, Acting High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Bangladesh and Azeem Shah, Group General Manager, Sea Pearl Beach Resort and Spa.
Chef Milroy Nanayakkara of Sea Pearl Beach Resort and Spa worked in collaboration and shared expertise to put together a selection of authentic Sri Lankan dishes for the food festival.
Some specialties that were served during the Sri Lankan Food Festival at Kasbah Restaurant are, Brinjal Moju, Coconut Roti, Steam Hoppers, Egg Hoppers and a variety of curries such as, Fish Ambul Thiyal (Maalu Ambul Thiyal), Prawn Curry, Beef Black Pepper Curry and many more mouthwatering delicacies.
Special sweet dishes such as the Watalappan (jaggery pudding), Sri Lankan pancake and (Thala Karali) sesame Karali were also served during the food festival.
The food festival was open to everyone interested to try the delicious delicacies of Sri Lankan Cuisine with a lavish buffet, priced at BDT 3999 all inclusive, served at the Kasbah Restaurant from 7:00 pm – 10:30 pm daily during the food festival.
