Mazandaran province in north Iran exports jump to 43 percent


(MENAFN) Based on a provincial official from Mazandaran, the exports worth from the province located in the north of Iran increased 43 percent in the first seven months of the present Iranian calendar year (March 21-October 22), when compared to the corresponding time span of last year.

According to an official with the customs department of Mazandaran, Ali Yousefi-Manesh, 514,018 tons of goods that value USD157.815 million were exported from the region during the previous seven months, marking also 22 percent increase regarding weight.

The official mentioned cement, minerals, kerosene and crude oil, dairy products, wood and wooden items, plastics, food products, as well as paper as the major exported products, and the major export places were Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Iraq and Afghanistan.

He also reported that 1.502 million tons of goods that value USD652.98 million were imported to the region during the mentioned time span, with 28 percent surge regarding value and four percent increase as of weight, in comparison to the corresponding period of last year.
