Child kidnapped from Kabul rescued in Kandahar


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KABUL (Pajhwok): A child kidnapped from Kabul has been recovered in southern Kandahar province and three suspects have been arrested in connection with the abduction, an official said on Sunday.

Taliban's Qatar office spokesperson Dr. Mohammad Naeem wrote on his Twitter account:“The child was rescued as a result of security forces/ operation in Kandahar on Saturday and handed over to his family.”

Three alleged kidnappers were arrested, he added. The kidnappers had sought $500,000 for the release of the child.
