Trade minister: Measures taken to facilitate Jordan-Palestine goods flow

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Nov. 20 (Petra)-The Jordanian government is taking measures to facilitate the goods flow between Jordan and Palestine in both directions, which would increase the volume of trade exchange, especially since it much falls short of the two countries' ambitions, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Youssef Shamali, said.
The minister's remarks came during his meeting with the President of the Palestinian Businessmen Forum (PBF), Amer Osaili, and Head of the Jordanian-Palestinian Business Forum (JPBF), Nazmi Atmeh, and the accompanying delegation.
The minister, in a statement on Saturday, stressed the importance of establishing joint economic activities and committees at all levels between the two brotherly countries due to their "remarkable" role in strengthening and developing economic and commercial cooperation relations.
This projected effort comes in light of "distinguished, historic" relations and "vast" opportunities to find forms of complementarity to economic activities and joint investments in Jordan and Palestine, the minister pointed out.
The delegation, for their part, valued the facilitations provided by the Kingdom to support the Palestinian economy.
During the meeting, a number of proposals were presented aimed to increase joint trade exchange, which would be followed up on in coordination with the competent authorities.
