These eco-friendly cards will be available from December 2021 to all Edenred UAE customers and can be used instore and online worldwide.

Edenred UAE is committed to reducing its carbon footprint, consumption of resources and waste, and managing the impact of its solutions during their lifetime. This approach is in line with the group's purpose“Enrich Connections. For Good.” Adopting an eco-design approach to these solutions, whether physical or digital, is one of the key priorities of Edenred's environmental policy. The eco-friendly cards are part of Edenred's efforts to support a sustainable economy as recycled PVC require less energy to produce than traditional plastic cards.

Pierre Gagnoud, Regional Director for South Europe, Middle East and Africa of Edenred commented ,“We are pleased to introduce this initiative to further support our customers commitment to a sustainable future. With the introduction of eco-friendly salary cards that have the highest concentration of recycled PVC in the market, we now have an opportunity to address some of the environmental concerns in the UAE and provide a sustainable choice for all our customers. It also marks an important step towards our commitment to going green.”

Edenred eco-friendly salary cards have an innovative vertical design, which includes a new recycle badge on the back of the card to help consumers distinguish cards made from recyclable PVC.

Research by the Boston Consulting Group has shown that 81% of the UAE consumers are aware of climate change and have a high willingness to live more sustainably.
