India: Climb observed in petrol, diesel prices


(MENAFN) On Saturday, Oct. 16 petrol and diesel prices climbed to their highest levels in India for the third consecutive day.

The rise in the cost brought the price of petrol in India capital New Delhi to INR 105.49 (USD1.41) a liter and diesel to INR 94.22 (USD1.26) per liter.

In the country’s financial capital Mumbai, a liter of petrol is worth 111.43 (USD1.49) and diesel INR 102.15 (USD1.36) a liter.

Within the eastern metropolitan city of Kolkata, petrol is priced at INR 106.10 (USD1.41) per liter and diesel is trading at INR 97.33 (USD1.30 U.S. dollars) per liter.

In the southern metropolitan city of Chennai, petrol costs INR 102.70 (USD1.37) per liter, whereas diesel per liter is worth INR 98.59 (USD1.31).
