Afghanistan: 5 IS operatives detained by authorities in Paktia

(MENAFN) On Monday, Oct. 11 a provincial official Khaleqyar Ahmadzai stated that security forces have detained five people on charge of connection with Daesh or the hardliner Islamic State (IS) outfit in the eastern Paktia province.

Amadzai noted that in a special drive of the security forces, five members of Daesh outfit were arrested from Ahmad Abad district on Sunday evening.

The official said that all the five detained men have confessed to their connection with the Islamic State outfit.

The capture is occurring in the wake of string of bomb explosions in the eastern Nangarhar, Kabul and northern Kunduz province during the last couple of weeks and killing loads of people for which the hardliner Islamic State outfit has assumed accountability.
