Taliban requests contributing in UN General Assembly meeting


(MENAFN) A letter was sent by The Taliban to the UN, and asked to join General Assembly summits and field spokesman Suhail Shaheen as an applicant for UN diplomat.

The Taliban wrote in the letter issued to the office of the UN secretary-general between disagreements about who is going to act for Afghanistan at the global body, that it should be signified at the UN, not by the diplomat under former President Ashraf Ghani's administration.

Antonio Guterres got a message with the letterhead "Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Ministry of Foreign Affairs" in September 20, Anadolu Agency mentioned what UN sources stated.

The message was inked by "Ameer Khan Muttaqi" as "Minister of Foreign Affairs" and asked to contribute in the 76th conference of the UN General Assembly which is from September 21-27.
