Israeli FM, Egyptian counterpart to strengthen bilateral ties


(MENAFN) According to a statement by Lapid's office, Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid talked on the phone with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry and agreed to improve mutual relations.

The statement further declared that “both ministers agreed to boost the Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid and his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry talked over the phone on Sunday and agreed to strengthen bilateral ties good relations between the two countries and advance the ties forward.”

Ina addition they both expressed hope to build up bilateral economic relations and "increase the potential of trade and business activity.

Also; they tackled Lapid's "economy in return for security" plan for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip. Gaza, a coastal Palestinian enclave, was under an Israeli and Egyptian blockade since 2007.
