São Paulo – The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) participated in the 47th edition of the Arab labor Conference, which occurred in Cairo, capital of Egypt, represented by the organization's regional advisor for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Iraq, and Yemen, Shaheen Ali Shaheen. Shaheen also attended the 37th meeting of the Standing Committee for Labor Affairs of the Union of Arab Chambers (UAC), which was held on the eve of the conference's opening, and discussed topics on entrepreneurship and small projects and their role in sustainable development and training.
The advisor also addressed the issue of implementing the agreements and recommendations of the ALO, the impact of technological development on the work environment, and the requirements of a green economy to provide job opportunities.
During the period of the conference, Shaheen met with labor ministers from Arab countries, including the Egyptian minister of Labor, Mohamed Saafan. He also met with the secretary-general of the UAC, Khaled Hanafy, and the director-general of the ALO, Fayez Ali Al-Mutairi.
At these meetings, Shaheen discussed ways to expand cooperation between Brazil and the Arab countries through the ABCC, which strengthened its presence and operations in the Arab world by opening a regional office in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. The organization will launch two new regional offices in Saudi Arabia and Egypt, reinforcing common interests between Brazil and the Arab world.
