Iraqi anti-terrorism forces kill 13 IS rebels

(MENAFN) On Sunday, Jun. 13 the Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) stated that a number of 13 rebels of the extremist Islamic State (IS) group were killed by its commando forces over the country thus far in June.

The commandos, supported by Iraqi aircraft, conducted a number of security drives this month, leaving 13 IS rebels dead and detaining many others, in addition to the demolishing of several caves and hiding places, said spokesperson of CTS Sabah al-Numan to the official Iraqi News Agency (INA).

Al-Numan stated that the CTS forces will maintain their drives to catch IS rebels.

The drives were part of attempts to get rid of the extremist IS rebels who increased their assaults on security forces and citizens in the previously IS-controlled provinces, leading to the death and injury of dozens.
