Panama- Security forces seize 35 tons of drugs


(MENAFN- Newsroom Panama) More than 35 tons of drugs have seized, in operations by units of the National Police, the National Aeronaval Service [Senan] and the National Border Service [Senafront], between January 1 and April 15, some 13 tons more than in the same period last year.

Cocaine formed 61% of the seizures, followed by marijuana (21%).

There have been 200 arrests for drug trafficking, 177 men and 23 women; Of these arrests, 153 are Panamanian citizens, 37 Colombians, 5 Costa Ricans, 4 Nicaraguans, and one US citizen.
