French PM announces suspension of all flights from, to Brazil

(MENAFN) The French Prime minister announced that all flights to and from Brazil have been suspended on Tuesday until further notice due to the worsening pandemic situation.

Jean Castex told the National Assembly regarding the rapid spread of the P1 variant and the return of French nationals from Brazil: "It is inappropriate to say we haven't taken action but we noticed that the situation is degrading and therefore suspending all flights between France and Brazil,"

Policymakers condemned Emmanuel Macron administration’s decision to keep flights to Brazil operative at a time when the South American nation is one of the worst-hit nations with the pandemic.
The overall number of deaths rose to 13,517,808 by Tuesday. Several European countries, including Germany, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal and the UK decided to close their airways.
