North Macedonia urges for solutions to bilateral issues with Bulgaria


(MENAFN)According to the bloc’s commissioner for neighborhood and enlargement, North Macedonia calls for solutions to mutual issues with Bulgaria before starting taking over negotiations with the EU.

During the virtual Economic Forum Tirana – titled EU and the Western Balkans: Fulfilling long-awaited promises, Oliver Varhelji stated that “North Macedonia has maintained a steady pace in the implementation of EU reforms … It is important that mutually acceptable solutions are found to pending bilateral issues between North Macedonia and Bulgaria.”

Albania completed the conditions for the first intergovernmental conference with the EU, due to significant reforms on the electoral law, the rule of law, and the justice system, including the selection of judges and prosecutors, he further declared.

North Macedonia’s Prime Minister Zoran Zaev urged the EU to do the promise given to the Western Balkans.
