China's carmaker FAW Group posts sales rise


(MENAFN) China's top carmaker FAW Group Co., Ltd. sold a number of 231,881 automobiles last month, a rise by 379.2 percent annually.

There were 13,009 sales of its foremost sedan brand Hongqi in February, a climb of 246.7 percent from the very period of 2020. An overall of 41,690 units from its truck subsidiary FAW Jiefang were sold, a rise of 215.9 percent.

The group's shared projects FAW-Volkswagen and FAW Toyota also registered sales expansion of 444.5 percent and 654.9 percent, each.

Established in 1953 in the northeastern city of Changchun, capital of Jilin Province, FAW Group is considered as the cradle of the country's car industry.
