Afghanistan- Rahmani: Culture of Acting Officials Should End


(MENAFN- Daily Outlook Afghanistan) KABUL - Wolesi Jirga speaker Mir RahmanRahmani on Saturday said the government should end the 'culture of acting officials in public institutions.
Rahmani made the remarks at the inaugural session of the third legislative year of the 7th term of the National Assembly.
The ministries of finance, public health, information and culture, women's affairs, rural development, education, Da Afghanistan Bank and the Attorney General's Office are currently governed by acting heads.
The speaker said close cooperation between the three branches of government and mutual respect could lead to a legitimate government.
Rahmani said respecting the resolutions of the Wolesi Jirga was respect for the law and obtaining vote of confidence from parliament strengthened state institutions.
He added, 'TheWolesi Jirga expects the leadership of the state to end the tradition of patronage 'and introduce cabinet members, the Attorney General's Office head and heads of other agencies that need a Wolesi Jirga vote as soon as possible.
Rahmani called on the Taliban to end violence and come to the negotiating table.
The Taliban should abandon plans that have no practical aspect, he said. (Pajhwok)
