Qatar- Domasco provides golfing experience to Volvo car owners


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: Domasco, the distributor of Volvo Cars in Qatar, celebrated National Sport Day (NSD) by hosting Volvo car owners at the Education City Golf Club (ECGC), providing them a unique golfing experience. 

Most Volvo car owners had no prior experience playing golf, so they were given a one-hour lesson on the basics of golf and learned how to putt. They later had the opportunity to put their newly acquired golfing skills to the test with some golf-inspired fun activities. The Volvo car owners left the day feeling energised.

"This pandemic has made us do things differently. Volvo cars are known for safety, and being a premium luxury brand, we wanted our customers to have a safe and unique experience with this NSD. Golf was thus the perfect choice for this NSD activity. As Domasco Volvo, we are glad to be part of Qatar's vision to emphasise the importance of sport and enhance awareness among members of society. We value our customers' health, and we followed all COVID-19 safety measures," said Managing Director at Domasco Volvo, Faisal Sharif.

Volvo customers also received a day pass to the ECGC. This helps in promoting golf as a sport on another day other than the NSD to improve Volvo car owners' lifestyle and make it part of their healthy behavior. 

Volvo was also the exclusive sponsor of the NSD Stableford organised by Education City Golf Club. The event saw ECGC members compete for the title. The individual Stableford format double teed at 6:20 am and continued till late afternoon. Winners were crowned in the professional and amateur categories with three positions in each.

Domasco also displayed its top-of-the-line Volvo cars, which included the new XC90, S90, and the XC40 Recharge Plug in Hybrid Electric Vehicle. Volvo car owners and participants of the Volvo NSD Stableford got to see the current Volvo models packed with safety technology and are among the safest cars to have ever existed. Volvo plans to produce and sell around 50% of their cars to be electric by 2025 and target a 40% lower carbon footprint per car by 2025.
