Qatar- Katara, Embassy to hold Bangladesh cultural events


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: Ambassador of Bangladesh H E Md. Jashim Uddin held a meeting yesterday with General Manager of Katara, Prof Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti. 

Ambassador thanked the General Manager for hosting a number of events at Katara in the past which were organised by the Bangladesh Embassy and the members of Bangladesh expatriate community in Qatar. 

Appreciating the world class facilities available at Katara, the Ambassador requested the General Manager to facilitate the participation of Bangladeshi expatriate community in Qatar at events to be organised by the Katara from time to time. 

It was agreed in the meeting that the Bangladesh Embassy and the Katara in collaboration with the Bangladesh community would organise events at Katara to mark the Mujib Year and the Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh in the coming months. 

The Ambassador proposed to sign an MoU between Katara and the authority concerned of Bangladesh to expand cooperation in the area of art and culture. 

The General Manager of Katara appreciated the proposal to sign an MoU. 

Highlighting the importance of culture in nurturing the bilateral relations, the Ambassador stressed on the exchange of visits of the artists and cultural troupes form both countries. 

Embassy Counsellor (Political and Economic) Md. Mahbur Rahman was also present at the meeting.
