Lebanese forces detain 5 over aggressive demonstrations in Tripoli


(MENAFN) According to a report by the National News Agency, on Friday, Jan. 29, the Lebanese forces declared that they have detained five people who participated in setting fire to the municipality's building an evening earlier in Tripoli, the country's northern city, in brutal demonstration confrontations between civilians and security army.

Tripoli saw four straight days of brutal demonstrations, leaving a young man dead and wounding hundreds of people.

Hundreds of demonstrators went to the street in Tripoli to demonstrate against the coronavirus curfew procedures.
