(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 27. Pressure on Iran isgrowing, but despite this, the country's progress in the nuclearand military sectors is also growing, Iranian President EbrahimRaisi said, Trend reports.

He made the remark during the opening ceremony of the 6thExhibition of Export Potential of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to him, Iran's military doctrine does not envision theacquisition of nuclear weapons. This is not due to internationalnorms and IAEA rules, but a fatwa from Iran's Supreme Leader.

The Iranian president stated that Iran uses nuclear technologyin industry, petrochemicals, and other fields and will continue todo so.

"The exhibition organized today shows that the sanctions imposedwill not affect Iran and that sanctions will never bear results inthis country at the will of the Iranian people," he said.

Additionally, it should be noted that the four-day Iran Expoexhibition kicked off today in Iran. It is reported that 2,000people from 80 countries participated in the exhibition. Throughthis exhibition, Iran intends to increase the number of countriesto which it exports products and showcase the successes achieved bylarge industrial enterprises and start-up companies.

To note, the Comprehensive Plan of Joint Action on Iran'snuclear program was implemented between Iran and the P5+1 group(the United States, Russia, China, the United Kingdom, France, andGermany) in January 2016. The US announced in May 2018 that it waswithdrawing from the plan and imposed sanctions on Iran in Novemberof the same year. Iran has announced that there will be norestrictions on the Iran nuclear deal in 2020.

In late 2020, the Iranian parliament adopted a strategic plan tocounter the sanctions, citing the non-fulfillment of the JointComprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) signed between Iran and sixcountries and the imposition of sanctions on Iran.

Based on the decision of the Iranian parliament, as of February23, Iran stopped the implementation of additional measures and anadditional protocol included in the nuclear deal. As a consequence, the monitoring mechanism of the IAEA was reduced by 20–30percent.
