China: Rail passenger, freight transfer recover


(MENAFN) According to the national railway operator, China's rail transport industry has seen a recovery in passenger and freight sizes in latest months in the middle of the effectual control of the coronavirus epidemic.

According to China State Railway Group Co., Ltd, September saw the daily standard count of train trips reach 7.71 million, almost 79.5 percent of the traveler traffic witnessed in the same period in the past year.

In the first three quarters, Chinese travelers made a sum of 1.49 billion train voyages.

In the meantime, rail load volume increased progressively in spite of the effect of the epidemic. China's railway cargo size reached 2.62 billion tons from January to September, increased 4.8 percent year on year.
