Iraq bans entry of foreigners amid Covid-19 measures

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BAGHDAD, Sept 19 (KUNA) -- Iraq will ban foreign travellers from entering the country amid coronavirus precautionary measures, authorities said on Saturday, just days ahead of a huge religious pilgrimage.
The move will prevent the entry of millions, who each year visit the country to perform the 40-day Arbaeen Pilgrimage, which is due in a few days' time, state news agency INA quoted a government committee as saying.
However, mosques have been reopened with adherence to preventive measures and social distancing, along with parks and outdoor recreational spaces. (end)
