Qatar reports 297 Covid-19 cases, two deaths


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) DOHA, Aug 9 (KUNA) -- The Qatari Ministry of Health announced on Sunday that 297 more people tested positive for the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) over the past 24 hours.
The latest figures bring this Gulf country's total number of confirmed infections with the globally spreading illness to 112,947, the ministry said in a press statement.
The ministry also confirmed two additional fatalities due to the highly contagious illness, taking the country's death toll to 184 so far.
Some 271 more people were cured of the deadly bug, raising the overall count of recoveries to 109,709 so far, according to the statement. (end)
