First batch of HMC medical professionals from India to reach Qatar on Wednesday


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: First batch of Hamad Medical Corporation medical professionals, who are stuck in India due to the Covid-19 pandemic, will reach Doha on Wednesday in a special flight.

Around 170 people, including doctors, nurses and their families, are expected to travel in the Indigo flight, which will leave Kochi on Wednesday July 22. HMC has arranged all facilities for quaratine of the staff once they arrive in Qatar.

The flight organized by HMC is coordinated by the Federation of Indian Nurses Qatar (FINQ) with the help of Indian Embassy. This is part of the three flights planned to bring back medical or non-medical HMC staff, who are stuck in India back to Qatar.

'HMC, Indian Embassy, officials in India and various associations extended their help for making this flight s reality and we have plans to bring back medical professionals from private sector also in the future, FINQ officials said.
