Namibia receives USD2.35m funding from China on coronavirus

(MENAFN) China has given coronavirus linked materials worth 40 million Namibian dollars (USD2.35 million) to Namibia to help the country in combatting the coronavirus, political counselor of the Chinese embassy in Namibia Yang Jun said on Monday.

Yang said, "We continue to pledge our support and our additional support is on the way. We hope the equipment donated is serving a good purpose in assisting the Namibian people".

He was speaking on the occasion where Chinese tech company Huawei gave two Thermal Imaging Temperature Measurement Systems to Namibia's Ministry of Health and Social Services to help in the battle against coronavirus.

Yang said the Chinese government through the embassy in Namibia is keen to support Namibia as a brother and as a way of strengthening long-standing affairs.
