Lao bushfire extends to China's Yunnan Province


(MENAFN) On Saturday, local officials announced a bushfire that raged up in Laos and then has reached to a region in southwest Yunnan Province in China.

The fire spread to more than 30 meters reaching the Yiwu Township of Mengla County in Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture after it had broken out in Laos at nearly 11:40 p.m. on Friday.

As the fire was reported, over 120 local inhabitants, officials and 50 firefighters hurried to the scene to extinguish the blaze.

In the wee hours of Saturday morning, the provincial fire department has launched planes to observe the situation in the area which is surrounded by no significant facilities and residential villages.
