Qatar's Amir inaugurates 24th Arabian Gulf Cup


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) DOHA, Nov 26 (KUNA) - Qatar's Amir Sheikh Tamim Al-Thani, on Tuesday, inaugurated the 24th Arabian Gulf Football Cup, which runs until December 8.
Sheikh Tamim announced the opening of the tournament, which witnessed various shows and entertainment events.
The opening ceremony also witnessed a historical account of the countries that hosted the Arabian Gulf Cup from the first to the last.
Khalifa International Stadium will host the opening match between Qatar and Iraq, while the UAE and Yemen will play the next match at Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium in the same group.
The tournament started for the first time in Bahrain in 1970. (end)
