Kuwait, Morocco eye closer legal, judicial bonds


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) MARRAKECH, Morocco, Oct 22 (KUNA) -- Visiting Kuwaiti Minister of Justice and Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs Fahad Al-Afasi and his Moroccan counterpart Mohammad Benabdelkader on Tuesday discussed ways of promoting bilateral ties by means of putting legal and juridical deals in place.
During the meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the second day of an international justice conference, both ministers agreed to share legislative expertise and step up training programs for judicial staff.
Speaking to KUNA following the meeting, the Moroccan minister spoke highly of the level of Kuwait's participation in the conference hosted by the Moroccan city of Marrakech, commending the experience of the Kuwaiti delegation.
"The Kuwaiti delegation is really distinguished in view of the number of members, experiences and high level of senior officials at judicial institutions and the Ministry of Justice," he said.
The Moroccan minister said both sides had agreed to continue talks between the experts of both countries' ministries of justice over means of deepening bilateral cooperation.
Later, the visiting Kuwaiti minister met Chairman of the Moroccan Supreme Council of the Judiciary Mustapha Fares on the promotion of judicial and legal bonds between both Arab countries.
Speaking to KUNA and Kuwait TV following the encounter, the Kuwaiti minister hailed close and firm Kuwaiti-Moroccan relations governed by bilateral agreements in various cooperative domains, mainly the judicial field.
He stressed Kuwait's interest in cooperation with Morocco in the field of judicial treaties and continuing joint courses and workshops. (end)
