Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court yet to receive order on Gota


(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) The Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court has yet to receive the order delivered by the Court of Appeal discharging former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa from the Avant Garde case.

When the case was heard before the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court today, the court said that it has not received the order delivered recently and postponed the case to 23rd September.

The case had been filed by the Bribery Commission accusing Rajapaksa and seven others of incurring a loss of Rs 11.4 billion to the government by approving the maintenance of the floating armoury owned by Avant Garde Maritime Services (Pvt) Limited when Rajapaksa was the Defence Secretary.
