Attacks by Boko Haram on Cameroonian soldiers


(MENAFN) The army confirmed on Sunday that, at least five Cameroonian soldiers died on Saturday night by Boko Haram in a fight in Soueram, a locality in the country's Far North district.


According to the army, Militants of the group flamed houses and belongings and attacked a military command post in the locality.

a military officer who asked not to be named told Xinhua that, nine other government soldiers as well as five marines and four gendarmes were injured in the attack, weapons were held and the command post damaged, and on Friday, two civilians have died by the group in Kerawa, a locality in the Far North.


According to security reports, over 2,000 people have died since Boko Haram started attacks in the Far North since 2014; the intensity of attacks has declined for over a year despite some sporadic attacks.
