Qatar- Thousands visit Katara Hunting and Falcons Exhibition

Doha: Curtains come down today on the third edition of the S'hail —Katara Hunting and Falcons Exhibition achieving great success with thousands of people visiting the five-day event including high officials and dignitaries.

H E Sheikh Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani, H E Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali, Minister of Culture and Sports, Sultan bin Rashid Al Khater, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and Zaid Al Lawzi, Ambassador of Jordan to Qatar visited the exhibition yesterday.

On Thursday the exhibition witnessed visits by high profile Qatari personalities such as H E Khalid bin Shaheed Al Ghanem, the Special Chief of Amiri Diwan, H E Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Turki Al Subaie, Minister of Municipality and Environment, Lieutenant General H E Hamad bin Ali Al Attiya, Advisor to the Amir for Defence Affairs and Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Thani.

The exhibition also received several ambassadors such as Yousef bin Ali Al Khater, Ambassador of Qatar to the UK, Najib bin Yahya Al Balushi, Ambassador of Oman to Qatar, Hafiz Mohammed Al-Ajmi, Ambassador to Kuwait to Qatar, Mohammed Sitri, Ambassador of Morocco to Qatar, Fikret Ozer, Turkish Ambassador to Qatar, Syrian Ambassador Nizar Al Hiraki, Alan Timbayan, Ambassador of Philippines to Qatar and Jonathan Muir, Ambassador of Australia to Qatar. 

Minister of Municipality and Environment, H E Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, and other officials at the third edition of the S'hail Katara Hunting and Falcons Exhibition on Thursday. 

More than 140 exhibitors representing different local and international companies, specialising in hunting equipment and falcons services, are taking part at this year's event, which is considered the biggest-of-its-kind in the Middle East. 

Throughout the exhibition, S'hail has demonstrated the image of Qatari heritage and culture in a remarkable way, taking visitors deep into the history and culture with falconry as main focus. A number of artists created paintings on authentic Qatari heritage at the event.

Organised by Katara Cultural Village, S'hail yesterday witnessed a huge turnout of visitors, who enjoyed all the different sections of the exhibition and the great deals and offers particularly for hunting trip and gear. 

A number of restaurants serving delicious dishes of game meat such as rabbit, gazelle and quail add unique flavour to visitor's experience in exploring all about hunting adventures.

Some of the most renowned world-class companies and manufacturers have presence at the exhibition since it has established itself as an important event since its launch in 2017 with numerous transactions and partnerships made by participants. 

S'hail has emerged as an international hub for hunting and falcon enthusiasts all over the world attracting merchants and buyers who have come to check the latest technologies in this field. S'hail's organising committee has always been keen in providing all the necessary services for the convenience of exhibition visitors. The entire exhibition hall was carefully designed to ensure ease of movement of visitors to the different booths organised according to the nature of services or products they offer such as the hunting weapons section, falcon auctions and safari equipment. 

Free cart service to carry the goods to the visitors' cars is provided at the exhibition besides, some exhibitors offer home delivery. Hospitality is part of the Qatari heritage, thus the exhibition has provided free water and coffee distribution stalls in different spots around the exhibition for visitors.

Hundreds of bidders participated in the falcon auction where one lanner falcon (Al Hurr) was sold at a price of QR600,000 for the name of Sheikh Khalifa bin Joaan Al Thani.

Nearly 18 falcons of the finest breeds go on sale at the falcon auction during the five days of the exhibition with prices ranging from QR70,000 to QR111,000.

A number of events run parallel to the exhibition including the competition for the best falcon hood and the best booth winners of which to be announced today. The exhibition is open today from 9 am to 10 pm.
