(MENAFN) A police source said that, three policemen and one driver died Tuesday night after unidentified gunmen attacked a deputy governor's convoy in Nigeria's central state of Nasarawa.
As said by the source, the attack occurred as Emmanuel Akabe, the deputy governor of Nasarawa, was heading to Abuja to attend the swearing-in ceremony for ministers scheduled for Wednesday.
The state police spokesman Othman Ismaeel said over phone that he wasn't fully briefed, as the state police chief and other senior officers were still at the scene.
