Delhi airport squads arrest S. African woman over carrying Heroin


(MENAFN) A South African woman was detained for carrying heroin worth 20 crore Indian Rupees (around USD2.86 million) at the international airport in India's capital Delhi, emphasized media reports on Monday.

She reportedly arrived on Saturday at the Terminal-3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) from South Africa thru Doha by Qatar Airlines flight.

It stated that the woman was stopped by the Customs officers at IGIA, and after searching her personal staff the authorities found out a "white coloured powdery substance with granules found to be heroin".

The teams managed to confiscate the amount of drug as per of provisions of "the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act" and they also managed to detain the woman under section 43(b) of the act.
